Fun Things To Do in Columbus, OH:
It's easy to fall in love with Columbus, Ohio, especially when you've taken the time to visit these wonderful places:

German Village / Brewery District
History buffs, shoppers, and drinkers alike love this area that is just south of downtown Columbus. This immigrant community was built in the 1830/40s and became an official historic district in the 1970s. Now it is filled with Queen Anne style homes, coffee houses, quaint shops, German restaurants, and more. Today many bars, shops, and coffee houses make German Village a fascinating place to visit. Every year towards the end of September, German Village celebrates the German Village Oktoberfest. This event blends historic German traditions with today’s urban needs into a fun filled event for the whole family. The adjacent Brewery District got its' name from the small family owned breweries, though it now features restaurants and redevelopment.

Short North  / Gallery District
Not too far from Ohio State University is a diverse, urban neighborhood named the Short North. Here there is a multitude of things to do, places to eat, and plenty of shopping. The Short North got its name from the police in the 1980's when it was populated with dilapidated buildings and crime rates were high. It was used to describe the “short” section just north of downtown Columbus. But in 1985, The Wood Companies started a redevelopment plan of the area. Today the Short North is one of Columbus’s most active urban playgrounds that include many art galleries, shops and restaurants. It is now home to many high-quality homes and grand residences.

Longaberger
You've just got to travel to nearby Newark to see the office headquarters one because pictures just don't do it justice. The Longaberger Company's Home Office really is a basket; the building is a replica of the Longaberger Medium Market Basket, only 160 times larger. Travel another 20 minutes up the road to visit the Longerberger Homestead, home of the world's largest apple basket. You can spend an entire charming day at Homestead, with basket weaving classes, beautiful stores, great dining, child activities, and even high tea.

COSI (Center of Science and Industry)
COSI is a great "living museum" where kids (and adult kids) can play and explore and take stuff apart and see how it works. Some Central Ohioans say they liked the old COSI better (before it moved into the renovated Central High School) but it's still a cool place to spend an afternoon. This place has kids and adults alike “ooh-ing” and “ah-ing” up and down the halls. With enough exhibits and hands-on activities to fill a weekend with fun and learning this is the place for kids and the young at heart. Come to the Big Science Park exhibit and have a hand at lifting a car by yourself.

Hocking Hills
The region just south of Columbus known as Hocking Hills is filled with picturesque terrain and beautiful fauna, hills and valleys, and rocky gorges and sandstone cliffs more than 300 million years old. There are several state parks and lots of out-of-the way cabins and cozy places to stay and enjoy. Just an hour drive from Greater Columbus, Hocking Hills is an outdoor wonder like no other in Ohio.

Ohio Stadium, “The Horseshoe”, Ohio State Football game.
Yes, it's the "Shoe", where the notorious OSU/Michigan game happens every now and then! Ohio Stadium is the second largest stadium in the Big Ten and the third largest college stadium in America. Its' fame and design make it a must-see when you visit Columbus. Ohio Stadium, known as the Horseshoe to most fans, was built in 1922.

Franklin Park Conservatory
Also located downtown, Franklin Park Conservatory could be where you might want to relax and enjoy the scenery. The annual Blooms and Butterflies exhibit will leave you exhilarated. All sorts of butterflies each year are let loose inside the Pacific Island water garden and you can walk amongst absolute beauty. There are different plant shows and exhibits throughout the year from the Orchid show in March and June to Daffodils and Violets in early spring.

Easton Town Center
You can shop, read a book or three, eat amazing food and catch a movie you have been dying to see at the Easton Town Center. Located north of Columbus conveniently along interstate 270, Easton Town Center is home to AMC theaters, a 30 screen movie theater. It is also home to several comedy clubs so you can catch some laughs as well as shop and see a movie.
