The racial makeup of the city was 82.72% White, 1.89% African American, 0.94% Native American, 3.33% Asian, 0.27% Pacific Islander, 7.02% from other races, and 3.82% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 11.90% of the population.
There were 33,327 households out of which 36.2% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 50.9% were married couples living together, 12.0% had a female householder with no husband present, and 31.9% were non-families. Out of all households, 24.3% were made up of individuals and 7.8% had someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.67 and the average family size was 3.17. In the city, the population was spread out with 27.5% under the age of 18, 11.1% from 18 to 24, 30.3% from 25 to 44, 21.2% from 45 to 64, and 9.8% who were 65 years of age or older.
